Aisha Kabanda, the MP representing Butambala district under the National Unity Platform, recently delved into the transformation of the Muhoozi Kainerugaba Movement (MK Movement) into the Patriotic League of Uganda. During a televised interview, Kabanda elucidated on the underlying motives behind this rebranding, portraying the MK Movement as an extension of the ruling NRM party’s efforts to engage the youth.
Having formerly been associated with the NRM, Kabanda highlighted the party’s realization of its diminishing influence among the youth. She explained that the decision to forefront Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba aimed to bridge this gap. However, Kabanda expressed doubts about Muhoozi’s ability to authentically connect with the youth due to his age and background.
