Masaka Tycoon Accused of Manipulating Legal System in Bitter Marital Dispute

In a shocking revelation that has captured the attention of Masaka residents, the family of Winnie Namulunga has come forward with serious allegations against her husband, Ronald Ssenkumba, a prominent businessman in the city. The family claims that Ssenkumba, known for his ownership of the Golden Hotel, has instigated the arrest of his own wife on dubious charges of stealing a car that was supposedly a gift from him.

Ms. Namulunga, who has been living under her father’s roof after leaving her marital home, is now facing legal trouble as she awaits a bail hearing before Masaka Grade I Magistrate Joshua Twongyeirwe. The puzzling case has taken a dramatic turn, with the family alleging that the car in question, a Toyota Premio with registration number UBG 168Y, was given to Namulunga by Ssenkumba as a reconciliation gift following a period of estrangement.

The family’s frustration with the legal system is palpable, as they believe their daughter is being unjustly treated. Joseph Lubega, Namulunga’s father, expressed his disbelief at the situation, stating that Ssenkumba’s actions are not only unfair but also a clear attempt to manipulate the legal process.

The saga took another twist when the family attempted to secure Namulunga’s temporary freedom, only to find that Magistrate Twongyeirwe was not available. This led to a confrontational scene at the court, where the family voiced their dissatisfaction with the handling of the case.

Ms. Maurine Lubega Baluku, Namulunga’s sister, added fuel to the fire by accusing Ssenkumba of years of mistreatment and recent intimidation tactics aimed at forcing Namulunga to withdraw a filed divorce case.

Despite Ssenkumba’s denial of the accusations and his assertion that there is no separation between him and Namulunga, the family remains adamant about seeking justice. They have vowed to stay at the court until Namulunga’s legal ordeal is resolved, highlighting the bitter marital dispute that has now spilled into the public domain.

This case raises questions about the complexities of domestic relationships and the potential for abuse of power within them. It also sheds light on the challenges faced by individuals navigating the legal system in such disputes.
