During International Women’s Day celebrations in Pakur, community leaders urged women to take a more active role in shaping their future.

Women’s Association chairperson Mary Nyakui said women’s contributions are often undervalued despite their significant role in families and communities.

She encouraged women to speak openly about their challenges and take part in leadership and policy discussions.

Nyakui also called on female leaders across South Sudan to advocate for the protection of women and children, especially in conflict-affected areas.
